It is a progressive disease that makes breathing difficult and can worsen overtime.
Kathy Grife, RN, of Frederick Memorial Hospital sat down with WHAG's Carmen Chau to discuss the symptoms and treatment options for the disease.
COPD is a condition that develops at a gradual pace and unfortunately, some may have it but not know it. The symptoms can limit routine activities and can eventually cause disability. It is mostly diagnosed in middle-aged and older adults, and is not contagious.
Treatments and lifestyle changes can help with the condition, and staying more active can also alter the severity of the disease.
Frederick Memorial Hospital offers a variety of services with heart disease. For more information, please click here.
