One Person Rescued from a Cliff Along the Appalachian Trail

- SMITHSBURG, Md. - One person was rescued from a cliff along the Appalachian Trail Saturday evening.

Crews received the call around 6:30 p.m. for a cliff rescue along the Appalachian Trail off Warner Hollow Road, according to James Ulrich, chief of operations for Smithsburg EMS.

It took crews about 30 to 45 minutes to rescue the patient, who was taken by ambulance to the hospital, Ulrich said.

No word on the extent of the victim's injuries.
