HAGERSTOWN, Md. - In 2015 National Golden Tissue Inc. will be rolling out more paper and begin the process of bringing in about 120 new employees.
At the end of the year, they will move to a new facility with the help of a $300,000 loan from the Washington County Board of County Commissioners.
"When we started thinking about this new project to be approached, all of them have been more than helpful in helping us do this expansion and create new jobs," said Gus Shahrooz, Owner of National Golden Tissue Inc.
"They have been here for four or five years and they are good contributers to the community, so its important to help them out with this incentive so they can create more jobs," said Ruth Anne Callaham, member of the Washington County Board of County Commissioners.
Owners say the space on Longmeadow Road will hopefully help them produce more than four million cases of paper.
"The new facility which is three times as big as this one, hopefully our production is going to be at least two and a half to three times as big as what we are doing in this building," said Shahrooz.
The expansion allows the company to give back to the community that has helped them thrive since 2008, and help them export more product overseas.
"This county has been great to us, they helped us every step of the way and you know we want to return the favor by creating the new jobs and hiring more people in this community," said Shahrooz.
The larger space is needed as they prepare to open a new storefront to sell their own line of products to the community at a discounted price.
Owners say the new storefront will open this summer and will be an outlet for local manufactures and themselves to sell products directly to the community for a bargain price.
