Police Arrest Frederick Man on Cocaine Charges

- FREDERICK, Md. - Officers with the Frederick Police Department have arrested a man in connection to a narcotics investigation near a local Travelodge. 

The incident happened in the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the area of the Travelodge on Monocacy Blvd. 

Officers say they observed a man, known to them as Anthony Alston, deposit trash in a public location and begin to leave. Police collected the trash and found cocaine residue and a room receipt for Travelodge. 

Police were able to locate Alston along US 70 and pull him over. Officers found a quantity of money inside the vehicle. 

A search and seizure warrant for the room listed on the receipt was granted by a judge. During execution of the warrant, police found around 7.5 ounces of crack cocaine, along with Alston's identification. 

Alston is charged with CDS possession large amount, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of paraphernalia. 

Alston was given an initial bond of $200,000 by the District Court Commissioner.
