Shots Fired in Frederick, Police Investigating

FREDERICK, Md. - Officers with the Frederick Police Department are investigating an incident where multiple gun shots were fired Thursday night in the city. 

It happened around 8:58 p.m. along the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. 

Upon arrival, several witnesses reported to officers hearing gunfire. They told police that two groups were heard having a verbal argument just prior to the shots fired. 

Witnesses also reported to police seeing several black men running from the scene. At this time police say there is no further descriptions of the men running from the area, and there are no victims that have been identified. 

Detectives are comparing evidence in this case to a similar incident reported on April 23, 2014 in the area of the 1100 block of Key Parkway. At this time, the two cases are not believed to be related. 

This case remains active and ongoing by the Frederick Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division.
