Third Person Faces Charges in Fourth of July Shooting

- FREDRICK COUNTY, Md. - A third person is facing charges in connection to a Fourth of July shooting that injured a 15-year-old girl.

Officers with the Frederick Police Department said during the course of the investigation, new information was revealed that led detectives to an address on Rhode Island Court.

During a search at the address, detectives discovered loaded handgun magazines and ammunition in the bedroom of the suspect, 19-year-old Micah Karem Jeffrey. In addition, police say marijuana was also found.

Jeffrey was taken into custody Tuesday night without incident. He's since been transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, awaiting an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

Jeffrey is charged with one count of illegal possession of ammunition and one count of possession of marijuana.

Officers say Jeffrey marks the third person charged in connection to the July 4, 2014 shooting in the 400 block of Sagner Avenue. The Frederick Police Department is still requesting assistance from the community in this case and any other incidents occurring in this area.

If anyone has information on this case, they're asked to call Det. Gene Alston at 301-600-1269 or anonymously at 301-600-8477.
