Toddler Struck by Vehicle in Frederick County, MD; Sent to Hospital

FREDERICK COUNTY, MD - State Police Troopers responded to an accident on Saturday Evening in which a toddler was struck by a car.

It happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. Saturday Evening in the parking lot at the Heritage Farm Park on Devilbiss Bridge Road in Frederick County, MD.

According to police, a 2 year old girl got out of her parent's vehicle in the parking lot of the park, and ran away from the car before her parents could get to her.

Police then say, another car traveling through the parking lot towards the exit heard a "bump" as the toddler ran into the driver's side of the vehicle.

The driver pulled over and realized they had ran over the child.  The toddler was transported by Maryland State Police medical helicopter to an area hospital.
