Traffic Stop Leads to Three Drug Arrests

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department arrested three people after drugs were found in their possession during a traffic stop. 

Officers said on Friday, August 8 at 3:29 p.m. they were conducting a routine patrol in the 700 block of Motter Avenue when they observed a man using his cell phone while driving. 

Upon pulling the vehicle over, a K-9 sniff was conducted on the vehicle and gave a positive alert for drugs. The driver was identified as Justin Eugene Tracey, 20, of Woodsboro, Maryland.

A search resulted in locating controlled drug paraphernalia, in the way of a hypodermic needle, and other drugs in the center of the console, police said. Another hypodermic needle was found under the rear passenger side seat, where Martin Wesley Miller, 22, of Walkersville, Md., was seated. 

The front seat passenger was identified as Devin Katrice Burns, 20, of Elkridge, Maryland. Ms. Burns was asked when she exited the vehicle if she had drugs on her, and she stated "yes", police said. Burns proceeded to retrieve marijuana from her bra and gave it to the officer. 

Tracey is charged with possession of controlled paraphernalia, and possession of paraphernalia. Miller is charged with possession of controlled paraphernalia, and Burns is charged with possession of heroin, marijuana, controlled paraphernalia, and paraphernalia. 

All three were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without incident.
