GARRETT COUNTY, Md. - Two people are facing charges in connection to a single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old driver in June.

The Garrett County Sheriff's Office said Terry Sharpless, 53, of Swanton and John Large, 47, of Oakland, were charged with obtaining by purchase and furnishing an alcoholic beverage to a person under the age of 21.

Deputies said on June 1, 2014 they were called to a car crash along a road on a private property, that claimed the life of Charles Frazee, 19, of Oakland. They said Frazee was the driver and sole occupant inside the vehicle.

He and several other persons under the age of 21 had been consuming alcohol at a campsite graduation party prior to the crash.

The investigation into the incident revealed alcohol purchases were made by Sharpless and Large at separate establishments, and then furnished to family members that were less than 21 years of age.
