CASCADE, Md. - Two people were arrested as fugitives of justice following an attempted armed robbery in Cascade.

The incident happened on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 around 3:49 p.m. at the Sanders Market along 25451 Military Road.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses and a bandanna over his face, entered the business. They say the man demanded money from the cashier and displayed a handgun in the waistband of his pants.

Deputies say when the cashier refused to give the man money, he fled the business.

The Sheriff's Office obtained a description of the suspect vehicle, and alerted surrounding police agencies.

A short time later, Krystal O'Neil and Christopher Trumpower were taken into custody after their car was located on West Fourth Street in Waynesboro by Washington Township Police.

Both are being held at the Franklin County Jail awaiting extradition to Maryland.

Charges are currently being sought, police say.
