WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - Crews battled a large fire on South Mountain for several hours Sunday afternoon.

Dispatchers with Washington County Fire and Rescue say it started just before 1 p.m. in the area Annapolis Rock.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene about ten minutes later, but it took them about an half an hour to reach the actual fire.

Fire crews at the scene say three to five acres on South Mountain have been burned.

More than 50 firefighters helped to put out the blaze, and it took them about two hours to get the fire completely under control.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
