UPDATE: Work Release Inmate Arrested

WHAG NEWS - Officials have arrested a work release inmate, after searching for him earlier Tuesday, according to the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center. 

Officials say Scott Pierce, 43, was reported missing after he did not return from his approved place of employment Monday. 

At 5:10 PM Winchester Police Dept saw Scott Pierce in the 1300 block of Berryville Ave. They attempted to make contact with him, and he fled.

At 6:50 PM a motorist recognized Scott Pierce at the Arby's off Berryville Ave.
The motorist got a police officer's attention who was nearby, and that officer recognized Pierce and attempted to make contact. Pierce fled, pursuit ensued.

He was apprehended at Elm St and Berryville Ave.

Pierce was taken to the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center, and he’s being charged with resisting arrest.

Previously, Pierce was convicted of probation violation, carrying a jail sentenced of just over three months.
