Vigil held for Homicide Victim, Family looks to Community for Tips

FREDERICK, MD - Family and friends are remembering one of their own, Lamont Ellis. The man was taken too soon.

"There's no day that goes by that we don't think of my brother and want justice it's just we need help from the community, " says Tyiesha Bailey.

"He was a good person, a son, a father, just a great man," says Howard Bailey, the victim's stepfather.

They're honoring the man's life, as they continue to look for who is responsible for his murder.

"No information is too small, if you have any information on this case, we'll follow up on it and determine that on our own," says Cpl. Aaron Lapp of the Frederick Police Department.

Police say he was shot just before 2am on September 30 near Mullinix Alley after a night out in Frederick with friends.

"He loved to sing, he loved to dance, kid around, you know stuff everyone's family goes through," says the man's stepfather.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and prosecution.

Donations are being accepted toward the reward being offered. An account has been set up at the M&T Bank. Donations can be made at any M&T in the account "Lamont G. Ellis Reward Fund."
