WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. - Earlier this week WHAG told you about the construction at the Humane Society of Washington County. On Friday, Lowe's started a volunteer project that's perfect for all of the kitties.

Volunteers from Lowe's are now putting the finishing touches on a new outside cat enclosure.

In addition to other improvements being made to the humane society, this project will allow customers to be able to view the cats outside. Officials said it also gives the cats some time outside of their cages to get some fresh air.

"We have volunteers from Lowe's all over in red shirts, building, painting, adopting. We had one of the volunteers adopt an animal. So we are thrilled and honored to have Lowe's honor us this year as a charity they want to support," said Ellen Taylor, vice president.

Construction on the project is scheduled to be completed this weekend.
