The Sharpsburg Area Emergency Medical Services will use the money to replace an ambulance that has over 100,000 miles.
The loan will cover 50-percent of the cost, and the company is expected to re-pay the loan over a ten year term, with a five-percent interest rate.
With discounts included, the total cost for the vehicle will be $182,752.
Before the loan was approved, officials say there was $300,000 in the Fire and Rescue Revolving Loan Fund. Officials believe there will be sufficient funds for other projects after this loan.
