BRUNSWICK, MD - Officials in Frederick County made a water rescue in Brunswick Thursday after they say a woman hit her head.

It happened near Brunswick along the Knoxville bend of the Potomac River right off of Route 180.

Emergency responders say the woman was tubing on the Potomac River near the Brunswick Boat Ramp when she hit her head on a rock.

Responders say she was wearing a life vest, and that she was able to keep her head above the water.

Others in the area brought her to safety before she was transported to an area hospital.

Her condition is unknown at this time. Responders are reminding the public to always wear a life vest when in the water.
