HAGERSTOWN, MD - A pedestrian was hit by a truck in downtown Hagerstown Friday morning.

The woman was trying to cross East Washington Street at Mulberry Street when she was hit by a truck with an attached trailer.

Witnesses say she was run over three times before the driver turned off his engine.

Djenabou Diallo works in the salon on the corner.  She says she ran outside as soon as she saw what happened.

"I thought she was dead.  I thought she was literally dead," Diallo said.

The woman was taken to Washington County Hospital.

Diallo says she's seen about half a dozen accidents at the intersection this year alone.  She says there is also a bus stop at the intersection.  There are currently no crosswalks where the streets meet.
