Woman Gets Arrested After Visiting Prison in Allegany County

ALLEGANY COUNTY, MD - A woman who was visiting an inmate at a prison in Cresaptown, was arrested after the visit.

Police say 19-year-old Mia Taft and a 16-year-old girl, tried to smuggle 17 small baggies of suspected marijuana into the Western Correctional Institution.

Officials say the suspects came from Baltimore to visit the inmate.

Taft faces several charges and is being held on a $25,000 dollar bond.

The 16-year-old was released to her parents.
