WINCHESTER, Va. - As it gets closer to the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, organizers continue to announce more and more events.
New this year, the festival will host the United Capital Ladies' Commonwealth Social Event, which is a quick two hours of networking and socializing for the leading ladies of Bloomtown.
The high-style get-together will take place in the ballroom at the George Washington Hotel.
A DJ will be playing classics from the 1920's, 30's and 40's, and a photo booth will add to the fun. An apple blossom pin, specially designed for this occasion, will be presented to each attendee.
"The Ladies' Commonwealth event came [about] because we felt that there should be an offering for ladies on Friday that was parallel to the Men's Commonwealth," said Glenne White, Co-Chair, Ladies Commonwealth.
Some of the female movers and shakers in the community that plan to attend include Winchester City Manager Eden Freeman, Frederick County, Va. Administrator Brenda Garton and the President at Shenandoah University Tracy Fitzsimmons.
