County money allocated for more treatment services

Funding will help 18 inpatient and 80-85 outpatient individuals in Franklin Co.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - In Franklin County, the county commissioners recently re-allocated money for more out-patient drug and alcohol treatment services.

County Commissioner David Keller said the additional funding will help with 18 inpatient and 80 to 85 outpatient individuals in the area recovering from addiction.

In the last year, the Borough has added a recovery support specialist, and officials said this has helped more people transition back into the real world.

The $99,000 is through the Human Services Block Grant and will be given to the Franklin and Fulton County Drug and Alcohol Program.

County officials said they noticed the need for more help on outpatient services.
