Five dogs killed in early morning fire at Mountainside Pet Rescue

UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - Early Friday morning, five dogs were killed in a fire at Mountainside Pet Rescue located at 7705 Upper Horse Valley Road in Upper Strasburg, Pa.  

According to officials from the Pleasant Hall Vol. Fire Company, they were dispatched there around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they saw three sheds that were fully engulfed in flames. Nearly 50 firefighters were on the scene and officials say it took them about 10 minutes to put out the fire. T

The owner of the Mountainside Pet Rescue was taken to Chambersburg Hospital to be treated with burns. The fire is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal’s Office.
