Mural project proposed in Chambersburg

After meeting with residents, the artist said he is changing his design

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A mural project is in the works in Chambersburg as a way to bring a stone wall to life near a local walking trail.

The proposed mural will be on a retaining wall between the rail trail and bike pump track at the intersection of Hood and King Streets.

After meeting with more than 50 residents for input, the artist said he is changing his design concept and will reveal it at the next town council meeting on June 26th. The artist said there has been some opposition to the mural but knows it will be beneficial for the area and will leave the wall in better shape than before.

If approved by the town council he hopes to start painting the mural next month.
