Township officer to work with drug task force

Washington Township officer collaborating full-time with drug task force

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Washington Township Police department is now collaborating with the Franklin County Drug Task Force.

One officer with the township police will work full-time with the drug task force to help them on investigations.

The chief said the agreement was finalized this week. The officer will be part of investigations with his focus on the Washington Township area.

“One of the reasons why I feel it is important that we collaborate is because we have a lot of the intelligence here within our agency,” said Barry Keller, chief of Washington Township police.  “We know the people, we see what’s going on, we hear what's going on, and so we are able to provide them with some of the information they may need to further drug investigations.”

The chief also said they will pick up the duties left behind by the officer until he returns.
