Pennsylvania - The Tuscarora School District has officially passed its budget for the 2017-2018 school year.
The $37.7 million dollar budget will include a hike in property taxes. The district will raise taxes to about $48 dollars; that number is for the owner of a home or land worth $150 thousand dollars in market value.
The district's business administrator said this will give the district about $371,000 in extra revenue. The district is facing about a $173,000 budget deficit and officials said it is directly connected to high pension and health care costs.
