Police Log 12/08

Waynesboro Police:
On 12/07/2011 the Waynesboro Police Department received information that Robert Stokes of 3524 Brook Street; Greencastle, Pennsylvania, was wanted for robbery in the Chambersburg area and was currently in the Waynesboro.

At 0831 hours on 12/07/2011, officers from the Waynesboro Police Department and the Washington Township Police Department went to 126 Hamilton Avenue in the Borough of Waynesboro.

Contact was made with Robert Stokes.  He attempted to flee.  Stokes resisted arrest and attempted to take an officers handgun.  Stokes was tazed and taken into custody.    A silver in color 38 caliber revolver was found with Stokes' ID and wallet

Stokes was turned over the Pennsylvania State Police on their robbery warrant.  Charges will be filed against Stokes for Persons Not To Possess Firearms, Disarming Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting Arrest.

On 12/05/2011 @ 1801 hours the Waynesboro Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of S. Potomac Street and West Second Street for a report of a two vehicle, rear end collision which was blocking the road.

On location there were no injuries according to statement and I relocated both units #1 and #2 to open the road. Both units were northbound on S. Potomac St. and approaching W. Second St. At this time Unit # 1 hit Unit #2 from behind when Unit #2 stopped and waited for opposing traffic before completing a left turn onto W. Second St.

The operator of Unit # 1 has a suspended license is cited for the violation.

Driven by Amanda Dick (24 y.o.a.) of South Church Street; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

Owner: Jordan Dick of South Church Street; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

Unit #2: Driven/Owned by Stephen Monn (64 y.o.a.) of West Main Street; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

On 12/03/11 the Waynesboro Police Department responded to 140 Cleveland Ave. for a reported theft of a bicycle.

According to the complainant, a Krissy Vulgamott, her sons bicycle was stolen from the front of her residence between 1400 hours and 1430 hours on this date.  A different bicycle was left in front of her residence where her sons bicycle had been.  Vulgamott's sons bicycle was valued at $80.00.

Vulgamott stated they have had two skateboards stolen in the last several months as well, but didn't report them.

Cumberland Police:
On December 7, 2011 at 5:18 P.M. an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Martin's Market on Park Street for a shoplifting complaint.   When the officer arrived at the location he made contact with store security.   The officer was advised that a female shoplifter was being detained.   During an investigation into the matter the officer learned that, Takeshia Shantez Combs attempted to leave the store without paying for several items after using the U-scan checkout line.   Combs was issued a criminal citation at the scene and later released pending her appearance in District Court.   Combs was charged with one count of theft less than $1,000.00.
