Thurmont Man Arrested Following Stabbing

- FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. - A Woodsboro man was transported to a nearby Trauma Center early Wednesday morning after deputies said he was stabbed in the stomach following an argument. 

The incident happened approximately at 12:02 a.m. at a Laundromat in Emmitsburg, located at North Jamison Avenue and West North Avenue. 

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said the victim, a 29-year-old man from Woodsboro, was found lying in the street, stabbed in the stomach area. 

FCBI investigators learned the suspect, Stephen Dobson, 32, of Thurmont, Md., and the victim had been in an argument when Dobson stabbed him with a knife.

Police said Dobson fled the scene on foot and Emergency Communications broadcast a description to responding deputies. They were able to establish a perimeter and apprehend him. 

The 29-year-old victim was transported by MSP Trooper 3 to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment. Dobson was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's Central Booking Unit, where he was charged with first and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
