Two Teens Face Charges After Stealing from Unlocked Cars

- HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Washington County Sheriff's Office charged two juveniles with theft after they caught the two stealing from unlocked vehicles.

On Tuesday, August 12 around 3 a.m. a deputy on patrol in the Halfway area saw two white males walking on the sidewalk. As the deputy passed the two teens, he saw they were both wearing rubber gloves. 

When the deputy turned around to make contact with them, he observed them discard the gloves and other items. Police said it was determined that the two 16-year-old's were entering unlocked vehicles and stealing items. 

The juveniles had entered several unlocked vehicles in the area of Hollywood Road and Greenmount Avenue in Hagerstown. 

Deputies said they were able to contact the victims and return the stolen property.
