Shape Up Sundays held in Old Town WInchester

Participants enjoy outdoor workout despite the heat

WINCHESTER, Va - Despite the heat, many people gathered in downtown Winchester Sunday morning to work up a sweat.
Old town Winchester, in partnership with the valley health wellness center kicked off  a new event series called Shape Up Sundays. The free, health-focused event took place at the Taylor Pavilion.
Sunday's shape up event featured outdoor fitness classes such as yoga, aerobics, kickboxing, and climbing. The city hopes the new event series will introduce people to forms of exercise they have not tried before and create a popular Sunday activity where people can exercise with friends or make new ones.
"Yoga is a very inclusive type of discipline, and i think sometimes the definition of it makes it seems like a bit of a mystery, i love the fact that we're out here and folks walking by, and folks walking by can get a sneak peak of what it actually can mean." Jill Donnelli, of Dharma Studio says.
Shape up Sundays will be held one Sunday per month, June through September.
