Train strikes pedestrian in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - A pedestrian was struck near the Woodbridge VRE station by a Northbound Amtrak train just after 7:30 p.m., according to the Virginia Railway Express.

The incident occurred on the 1000-block of Express Way in Woodbridge, Virginia.

VRE says passengers were transported via buses to Lorton Station and transported to their stations.

The Fredericksburg Line train 315 was delayed due to the incident, according to VRE.

An autospy is scheduled for Monday. 

After it is complete, authorities say they will release more information.
