Frederick man hospitalized after being stabbed in fight

Police say the suspect was hiding out in an apartment building

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man is in serious but stable condition today after he was stabbed during an altercation. 
 
Frederick Police said they responded around 9:40 a.m. this morning to the 1000 block of Heather Ridge Drive. They found a male victim with a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Police found the 24-year-old suspect Kareem Avery Charles hiding in a nearby apartment. They said a verbal altercation started between the victim and a female inside of an apartment. 
 
Charles is charged with two counts of assault and one count of reckless endangerment.
 
"What were doing is we're following up with the information that’s provided on scene from witnesses and from our victim. Ultimately, we'll present a case before the State Attorneys Office," said Lieutenant Clark Pennington, Frederick Police Department.
 
Frederick Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
