WASHINGTON, D.C - U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito is working to improve the infrastructure for the entire state of West Virginia.
Sen. Capito says she believes the entire country is in need of a major investment in rural areas, economic development and broadband access. She cited in the Eastern Panhandle there is a lot of congestion on the highways. It’s National Infrastructure Week and Sen. Capito says she's been listening to testimonies and says no matter what package is put together it should definitely include rapid broadband in rural areas in West Virginia and should be geared at making smart investments in the roads, bridges and highways.
“But we still have great need in our state to modernize, to repair and to build new infrastructure and water systems and waste water systems,” said Capito.
Sen. Capito says all of those elements will be included in the bill that she will be working on.
