Wife Charged with the Murder of her Husband in Allegany County

ALLEGANY COUNTY, Md. - An Allegany County man is dead after his wife stabbed him in the chest Tuesday evening.

The incident happened August 19, 2014 at 5:57 p.m. at a private residence on Broad Street.

The Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene where the victim was identified as 29-year-old Edward Allen Kimble. He was transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators with C3I responded to the scene to assist. They learned that Kimble and his wife, Jessyca Laine Kimble, 28, had been involved in an argument. Jessyca Kimble retrieved a steak knife during the argument, which soon became physical.

During the fight, investigators said Edward Kimble was stabbed once in the upper left chest area. After being stabbed he ran to a nearby neighbor's house and knocked on the door. By the time neighbors answered the door, he had collapsed on the porch.

The neighbors called 911 and an ambulance responded to the scene.

Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for the home. The knife used during the incident was recovered, they said. Members also obtained a search warrant to obtain a DNA sample and other physical evidence from Jessyca Kimble.

The scene was processed by members of the Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division. Officials said Kimble's body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Jessyca Kimble is charged with second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. She is currently awaiting an initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

The Allegany County Sheriff's Office and C3I said this investigation is ongoing.
