Frederick's Branden Kline pitches 3 scoreless innings; Aberdeen loses 6-3

RHP Branden Kline (0-0, 7.50) started for the Ironbirds on Tuesday night against the Staten Island Cyclones. Klin, a native of Frederick, MD and T.J. alum, was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2nd round (65th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft. Kline exited Tuesday night's game after three innings with 3IP, 2H, 0R, 2BB and 3K.  Staten ISalnd won the game 6-3

After three scoreless innings, the Cyclones struck first when 1B Jayce Boyd smacked his second home run of the series to deep center field. Birds held the Cyclones to a single run and exited the fourth inning, 1-0. Another single by the Cylcones in the fifth sustained the Cyclones lead. After six scoreless frames, the IronBirds rallied back in the sixth inning to steal the lead at, 3-2. Cyclones tied up the game in the seventh inning. The Cyclones broke the tie in the top of the eleventh inning and secured the win
