Wright will not step down.  Wright has been at TJ for 27 years and originally announced he would step down late in the regular season.  The Patriots were Class 3A runners up.

According to a Statement on Wright said, "The administration was gracious enough to accept my retraction and eager enough to work on a couple of my issues, such as the poor quality of our practice field and the limited usage of the weight room. With that it made me realize that I'm not ready to end my coaching career at TJ.  I am very happy and blessed to have the support of the administration," my doctor advised me that it is something that I should continue to do since I really enjoy it so much."

Wright has been dealing with prostate cancer and was at the school as a Physical Education Instructor.
