TODAY: Partly sunny and even milder with highs in the low to mid 50s.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild for December. Low 46.

THURSDAY: A cold front approaches from the west late in the day with a chance of a shower in the afternoon and evening. Much of the day will be dry, but mostly cloudy. The big story is the mild air with a high well above average at 63 degrees! Highs in the Shenandoah Valley and Potomac Highlands may climb into the mid 60s.

FRIDAY: The cold front moves through with showers throughout the day. The high will be in the morning in the low 50s and temperatures will fall to the 30s by evening. If enough precipitation is left over, a wet snowflakes are possible before the precipitation ends as colder air moves in behind the front.

SATURDAY: Behind the front, it turns colder with highs back into the 30s with limited sunshine.

SUNDAY: We'll be watching a storm to our south bringing a chance of an icy mix of snow and sleet that quickly changes over to a period of freezing rain as cold air gets trapped in east of the mountains. High 32.

MONDAY: The storm brings in milder air from the south, so any ice changes over to a cold rain. The high in the upper 30s.

TUESDAY: The storm exits and we are left with clouds giving way to some afternoon sun. It's colder with a high of 32.

Enjoy your day! Alan
