TODAY: Atmospheric energy around a ridge of high pressure in the Midwest brings scattered scattered showers and downpours throughout the day. With the high humidity, locally heavy rain is possible. High upper 70s to near 80. Look for a half inch to an inch of rain in many spots.

TONIGHT: A lingering shower is possible, otherwise it's mostly cloudy and still muggy. Low 67.

THURSDAY: A much quieter day as the showers and storms exit off the coast. It's partly cloudy and warm, but not quite as humid. We can't rule out an isolated afternoon thunderstorm, but most of us remain dry. High 86.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with a seasonable high of 86.

SATURDAY: Changes are in store for the weekend with more humidity and chances for showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. It will not be a washout, but it will be a bit unsettled. High 84.

SUNDAY: It's still humid with a chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. High 86.

MONDAY: Labor Day looks warm and humid with a spotty thunderstorm popping up, mainly in the afternoon. Again, it's not a washout. High in the mid 80s.

TUESDAY: It looks like the cold front that brings the showers and storms over the weekend exits off the coast. It will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s with less humidity.
