Investigators say the victim is now 23 years old, and a family member of the man came forward to report the abuse. The man then told police Benner abused him more than 200 times over a seven year period. According to police, the victim reported that Benner had held a knife to his throat or a gun to his head during the sex acts.

During a search warrant of Benner's home, police say they found nine guns, ammunition, three swords and two large hunting knives.

Benner was taken into custody Wednesday night at his home.

Benner is facing charges of first, second and third-degree sex offenses and child abuse. He's currently being held at the Howard County Detention Center without bond.

Detectives strongly believe that Benner has committed similar acts against additional other children. Police are urging anyone who may have been a victim, or has any information to come forward and call police at (410)-313-2630.
