Arrest Made in Gloria Fitzpatrick Homicide

A Frederick man has been charged with first and second-degree murder for the death of Gloria Fitzpatrick.

FREDERICK COUNTY, MD - Antwine Dwayne Snowden, 51, of Frederick is behind bars for allegedly killing a local woman back in April.

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation arrested Snowden Tuesday afternoon after a brief standoff with police at an apartment complex off of Carroll Parkway.

Snowden now faces first and second-degree murder charges for the death of 61-year-old Gloria Fitzpatrick. He is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on a no bond status.

Police found through the investigation, Snowden and Fitzpatrick lived in the same apartment complex and had a social relationship.

Snowden had been in the victim's apartment several times leading up to her death. Police say Snowden also lied about his whereabouts the night of her death.

Police say DNA results from a lab analysis tie Snow to Fitzpatrick's apartment where she was killed.

The Medical Examiner's Office says the cause of Fitzpatrick's death involved multiple injuries consistent with strangulation.

Police say the Fitzpatrick family has been notified of the arrest.
