Body Found In Conococheague Creek

Officials are continuing to investigate the death of a 25-year-old man found in the Conococheague Creek Thursday afternoon.


WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - Officials are continuing to investigate the death of a 25-year-old man found in the Conococheague Creek Thursday afternoon.

According to the sheriff's office, Corey Clopein of Hagerstown was found in the water around 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

Clopein reportedly went to the creek to fish and a family member found him in the water near the measuring station on Wishard road.

The cause of his death is unknown, but officials say foul play is not suspected.  His body was taken to the office of the medical examiner for an autopsy.
