No Evidence of Shots Fired At Valley Mall

Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office say there is no evidence shots were fired; however, one person was taken into custody.
HAGERSTOWN, MD -  We are learning more about an incident that happened at the movie theater at the Valley Mall Wednesday evening.

According to officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a call came in around 9 pm from inside the movie theater that shots were fired.  Police immediately responded and evacuated the theater and locked down the mall. A helicopter was seen circling the area.

Witnesses who were inside the mall say police arrived with guns drawn, and escorted people to their cars.

According to police, nobody was injured and there is no evidence a weapon was discharged.  One person was taken into police custody following the incident for not cooperating with authorities.

The Sheriff's office says this incident is not a hoax and that a woman called 911 with information that she had seen someone with a gun and heard shots.

The investigation is ongoing.

Original Story - 9:30 PM - HAGERSTOWN, MD - Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office are on the scene of an incident at the Valley Mall.  We have confirmed that the mall and movie theatre are currently on lock-down.

Police have not confirmed many details at this time, but have said they are searching the area for someone, and a helicopter is involved in that search.
