Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company Hosts 9/11 Tribute

Firefighters, EMS, police, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and lawmakers were at the service.
BRUNSWICK, Md. - The community of Frederick County, Maryland came together in to remember those who lost their lives on September 11th.

The Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company hosted a ceremony Wednesday morning.  Firefighters, EMS, police, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and lawmakers were at the service.

Frederick County Commission President Blaine Young said every year a different fire company in the county will host the 9/11 tribute.

The Brunswick fire chief says the events on September 11th show us we should always be prepared.

"It means that we always have to be prepared, as we learned in 2001 with the tragic events of that day. I don't think anybody was prepared for that," said Roy Lipscomb, chief of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company.

The Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company has been serving the area as a 100 percent volunteer company since 1897.
