WHAG NEWS - On Tuesday the community is remembering four U.S. soldiers killed in action Sunday in Afghanistan. One of the soldiers is Sergeant Patrick Hawkins, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The 25-year-old Army Special Operations Soldier was assigned to the Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. He enlisted in 2010, and served as a rifleman, gun team leader and ranger team leader.

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick J. Ellis, Commander of the Third Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, where Sergeant Kawkins was stationed has this to say about him, "Sgt. Patrick Hawkins was brave and a incredibly talented ranger. He was moving to the aid of a wounded ranger when he was killed."

Lieutenant Colonel Ellis says Sergeant Hawkins was keeping with the ranger creed, "I will never leave a fallen comrade."

Hawkins leaves a wife, who lives in Kansas, and both of his parents who live in Carlisle.
