The blaze is spread across 700 acres inside the Monongahela National forest on the Cheat-Potojmac Ranger District in Pendleton County.

Forest service officials say multiple resources are on the scene, including crews from West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Wisconsin and Tennessee. They say so far crews have 20 percent of the fire contained.

One injury was reported Monday and that person was treated.

Crews on Tuesday are taking a look at the entire perimeter to contain the fire inside the National Forest.
