$1M Grant Helps to Expand National Golden Tissue

According to a press releases from Governor Martin O'Malley's office, the $1 million conditional grant was awarded to Washington County to help facilitate the tissue company as it takes over the Boat USA building on Longmeadow Road.
WHAG NEWS - The State of Maryland has approved a $1 million grant to help with the expansion of the National Golden Tissue company in Hagerstown. 

According to a press releases from Governor Martin O'Malley's office, the $1 million conditional grant was awarded to Washington County to help facilitate the tissue company as it takes over the Boat USA building on Longmeadow Road. The company will upgrade the facility and add more than 100 new jobs. 

The local company told WHAG they plan to sell more products in Hagerstown and overseas. They also plan to open up a storefront this summer. The grant comes through the state's community development block grant program.
