Ali Astin to Reign as Queen Shenandoah 2014

Alexandra "Ali" Astin was crowned as this year's Queen Shenandoah. The coronation was held at John Handley High School's Patsy Cline Theatre.
WINCHESTER, Va. - Alexandra "Ali" Astin was crowned as this year's Queen Shenandoah of the Apple Blossom Festival. It is one of the oldest and notable traditions of the festival.
 
She is actor Sean Astin's daughter, and granddaughter of award-winning actrors, Patty Duke and John Astin, who played Gomez in the original "Adams Family."
 
The coronation took place at John Handley High School's Patsy Cline Theatre with hundreds of people showing up in their pink and green outfits.
 
At seven-years old, her dream was to become queen but with her father being a well-known actor, she played "Eleanor" in "The Return of the King," the final trilogy to "Lord of the Rings."
 
Ali is currently starring in the movie, "Ribbit" with her father. Plans are also in the works for her in finding the right university to attend. She is not the only daughter of Sean; Elizabeth, 11, and Isabella, 8 will also be at the festival.
 
She will make another appearance on the Queen's Float in the Grand Feature Parade. Both her parents will be attending the festival, but her father, Sean will have to fly back to California to promote his new movie.
