Bicyclist Struck by Vehicle, Taken to Hospital

Police say the bicyclist was riding along the road around 7 p.m. Monday, when it was struck by a passing vehicle.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of York Road and Halfway Blvd. for an accident involving a bicyclist. 

Police say the bicyclist was riding along the road around 7 p.m. Monday, when it was struck by a passing vehicle. 

Initially, MD State Police Trooper 3 helicopter was called in, then canceled. Investigators say the man riding the bike was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center for treatment. 

At this time, the extent of his injuries are unknown. 

The sheriff's office says the driver of the vehicle did stop, and no charges have been filed at this time.
