Boonsboro Woman Sentenced to Four Years for Abusing Daugther

A Boonsboro woman will spend four years behind bars after pleading guilty to second-degree child abuse.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. -  A Boonsboro woman will spend four years behind bars after pleading guilty to second-degree child abuse.

Officials say Stacey Reese, 26, was sentenced to eight years in prison, with half of that time suspended, in Washington County Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

In April 2013, Reese was charged with breaking the arm of her then eight-month infant daughter. The infant was taken to Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C., where they discovered the infant suffered from fractures on her arm and legs.

According to Prosecuting Attorney Brett Wilson, Reese told police that she was exercising too hard with the infant.

Wilson said the young girl is doing well and is currently in foster care.

All other charges were dropped due to Reese's guilty plea, court officials say.
