Weather Alert: The Maryland Department of the Environment & Virginia Department of the Environment have issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for the following counties:

In Maryland: Allegany, Garrett & Washington
In West Virginia: Berkeley & Jefferson
In Virginia: Frederick & City of Winchester

Weather Synopsis: We've seen a few breaks in the clouds this afternoon, but don't get used to it, those clouds will thicken back up for Wednesday before our next frontal system arrives by the end of the week with over next chance of rain arriving to the area. Milder air will work in before this cold front arrives sending high temperatures on Thursday into the lower 60's but after the rain works through on Friday, we turn our attention to the end of the weekend.  High pressure will briefly control the forecast for Saturday before a system works up from the south and brings us our chance of precipitation for the latter portions of the weekend, early next week.  It looks like enough cold air will be in place at the start for this to be a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain on Sunday and Sunday Night, before we change this over to rain on Monday, and the rain lasts into Tuesday of next week.  We'll continue to fine tune this forecast as we approach the weekend.

Have a great Tuesday and see you on WHAG News at 7:00 & 11:00 PM!
