Weather Alert: Dangerously cold temperature expected Monday Night through Tuesday Night, breaking records. The old record low for Hagerstown is -1 set back in 1940, and with our current forecast, we are looking to break that record.  The frigid air mass that is on the way in rivels temperatures from 1994.  Winds will also be gusting behind the frontal boundary on Monday Night, with sustained winds of 20-25 MPH, will send wind chills from -5F to -20F, with -40F possible in the higher elevations East of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The National Weather Service is saying that Wind Chill Watches will more than likely need to be posted as we get into Sunday for this event on Monday. Now is the time to prepare yourself and your family for this bitter cold on the way to the region.
