Weather Synopsis: After an enjoyable weekend with one or two isolated showers and thunderstorms, we’re returning to a more active pattern for the majority of this week.

As we watch an area of low pressure move towards the area for the middle of this week, we will increase the heat and humidity and chances for showers and thunderstorms. Some of those could be strong to severe, especially on Wednesday, but we can not rule out one or two strong to severe storms on Tuesday. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall would be the primary threats along with cloud to ground lightning can be anticipated.

Once this front moves through, we may see an isolated storm on Thursday and Friday, as high pressure, especially on Thursday, as we watch an upper level disturbance move towards the area, and with an area of high pressure off the Eastern Seaboard, that will once again keep the chances of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, also with increasing temperatures through the beginning of next week.

Keep an eye to the sky the next few days, and keep the umbrella handy as well!

I’ll see you on WHAG News at 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM tonight.
